The most reliable way to find your shoe size
Numbers on a shoe box vary by country, but your foot doesn't. The single best method is to measure your foot length in centimetres and match it to the chart, the foot-length column is the same everywhere, so it sidesteps conversion confusion entirely.
How to measure your feet at home
- Stand on a sheet of paper, heel against a wall, in the evening (feet swell during the day).
- Mark the tip of your longest toe and measure from the wall to the mark.
- Do both feet and use the larger measurement.
- Add about 0.5 cm of wiggle room, then match to the chart.
Quick conversion patterns
- Women: UK is about US − 2; EU is roughly US + 30.
- Men: UK is about US − 0.5; EU is roughly US + 33.
Widths and lasts differ between brands, so if you're between sizes or buying a narrow style, size up and check the returns policy.
